An Ovation For Newest Newman-O’s
I tore into a bag of the new Newman-O’s Peanut Butter Creme Filled Chocolate Cookies, and curiously took a bite. As I contemplated whether I liked the new cookie sandwiches, my hand started reaching for another. And then another.
That answered that.
Basically, I had to close up the bag and move it to another room so that I wouldn’t end up inhaling the entire package. The deep cocoa-tasting, crisp chocolate cookies encase a creamy, subtly salty peanut butter filling. I especially like how the cookies are not that sweet.
The cookies have no cholesterol or trans-fatty acids because of the use of organic palm oil, which is lower in saturated fat than butter and is not hydrogenated.
A 16-ounce package is $4.99. The cookies are available at Whole Foods and other grocery stores.
Newman’s Own Organics (founded by the late, great actor-director Paul Newman and his daughter Nell Newman of Santa Cruz) gives away all royalties after taxes to educational and charitable organizations. Since 1982, more than $200 million has been donated.
Paul Newman may be sadly gone. But his legacy in films, food, and good deeds thankfully lives on.
oh no, you did not just tell me about some new peanut butter, chocolate goodie on the market! Sigh, my waistline is forever doomed. First cupcakes, now these? Did I mention my waistline needs a break?
My waistline was doomed years ago! Hah. But the cookies are pretty awesome, I must say.
I’m not a big fan of peanut butter, at least in cookies, however, your description makes me want to give them a try. (BTW, just NOW finished ate 4 of Newman’s Chocolate O cookies LOL).
I haven’t noticed these in Austin, but you can bet I will start looking for them. Yum!
