Seattle’s Best Coffee and A Food Gal Giveway
How strong do you like it?
Seattle’s Best Coffee makes it easy to figure out what type of coffee your taste buds most desire.
Its new Levels packaged coffee is numbered by strength from 1 to 5. Level 1 is the lightest and most mild; Level 5 is the darkest and most intense.
Maybe you need Level 5 to wake up in the morning, but prefer a more mellow Level 2 in the late afternoon. The system makes it easy to hone in on just what you like best.
Contest: One lucky Food Gal reader will get a chance to win a sample of each of the Levels coffees, from No. 1 to No. 5.
Entries, limited to those in the continental United States, will be accepted through midnight PST June 25. The winner will be announced June 27.
How to win?
Just tell me one thing you admit you’re a wimp about, plus one thing you’re absolutely intense about. Best answer wins.
Here’s my own answer:
“OK, I’m a total wimp when it comes to large bugs of any sort. I know, I know, I am such a girl. But I can’t help it. Those creepy-crawlies that go crunch in the night give me the heebie-jeebies. On the flip side, I’m probably at my most intense when I want to do a good job at something. I learned long ago that the difference between doing just an OK job and doing an exceptional job does not really amount to that much more effort in the scheme of things. But when you give it your all, you just get so much more back in return.”
I am a huge wimp about worms! Kinda strange, but they are mini snakes and they are so gross looking. You can have an absolutely beautiful spring rain and then you go outside and there are worms on the ground and it’s like you have to dodge worm mines! YUCK! MY passion is food. I love to cook and make people happy through good food. I alwasys did what my family and others wanted me to when it came to a career choice. Finally, I decided that I was going to do what I wanted and I have gone back to school at Le Cordon Bleu. Cooking brings people together and great food brings lives together. To create something that you can look at have passion for and then to taste it and it melt in your mouth is beyond rewarding. I love food!
I’m a total wimp about shots or getting my blood taken. I swear I start hyperventilating right before and totally make myself sick every time. I’m very intense about my workouts. If I don’t squeeze in some type of exercise, I feel lazy and totally lathargic!
Well im a huge wimp when my family is hurt or hurting. When my wife was in the hospital on bed rest pregnant with my son, i could not stand to watch the nurse take her blood, or when they put the monitor on her stomach to check the progress of my son in the womb and when he was born two months premature and in the nicu unit for six weeks that was rough, he is two and ok now. Iam intence about food and wine, i love to cook for my family from recepies by Micheal chiarello, what a great cook, and wine i travel between 100 and 200 miles just to buy a few bottles of my favorite wine. Usually in either Lake county, ca or Napa ca..
I am a wimp about bombing downhill on the mountain bike!
I am a huge wimp about leeches. The idea of something attaching to you and sucking out your blood. ugh! Also those leeches in Asia that can crawl on land and sense body heat. Creepy. I am super intense about Roller Derby and Roller skating. The speed and intensity melt my day away and I come out in such a better mood!!!!
Of course I am also a wimp when it comes to any bugs, worms, creepy-crawlies but to bring it closer to the context of food – I am a total wimp when it comes to baking!!!! My head is in the sand and mud when it comes to that.
Just don’t ask me to do anything that is against my belief and integrity : if I have given a promise to do something, I will pretty much carry that intensity and attitude to complete it (or I would not have even agreed to do so in the first place).
I am a huge wimp about stray cats. It seems weird…and absolutely wimpy but I once had this cat that adopted my backyard as its new home (probably since we gave it food…oops) and it would terrorize me! It was hide in my backyard and wait for me to come out and pounce at my feet and hiss! It would also hide under my car and wait for me to go to the drivers seat and jump out from underneath. Every since whenever I walk by a stray cat or see one I get totally freaked out and think it will pounce!
On the other hand I am super intense at homemade birthday cards and cakes. I will never buy someone a homemade card or cake and I have the best time creating totally unique and delicious cakes to give away! I love making new birthday cakes decorated to each person’s personality and hobbies! Birthday’s are a really special time and I am always intense about making them super special for the ones I love. It is a fun intense nonetheless
I so a wuss with bugs too. I found a SPIDER (yes, a real spider) in my belly button when i was 8 years old. I totally freaked out and since have to check my belly button from time to time. Ugh…it makes me crawly just thinking about it.
I’m pretty intense about baking (and many other things). I like to try 2-3 new recipes a week. Unfortunately it has sort of made me a snob when I go to bakeries, but it also saves me money….and everyone loves someone who can bake sweet goodness.
I am a big wimp when I see water bugs crawling. They are the creepiest bug because they resemble roaches but bigger. I hate it when I miss whacking it. I try to hit it with all my might but most of the time they get away. How the heck do they know I am about to whack it? Smart big buggers.
I don’t drink much coffee but I do love coffee flavoured things. Is that totally strange? 😛
I love that with these, you can calibrate the coffee strength to your mood. Awesome.
I’m a total wimp about swimming in open water. I took swimming classes for most of my childhood and I still hyperventilate when I get wet. I’m super intense about running. No distance is too long!
I love how they rate their coffee according to intensity!
I’m a total wimp when it comes to spicy food (really…who goes to an Indian restaurant and orders their curry mild, lol?). I’m a real champ when it comes to raw onion and garlic though…love them loaded up on sandwiches. In fact, the only way I’ll eat a sub is with extra, extra onion (I guess just one extra isn’t enough!). 🙂
I wimp out when it comes to snakes. They just make my skin crawl.I cannoy tell a good one from a poison one. They are all poison to me. My strength is in making a good meal. It has to be right, with the right condiments and spices to compliment the main course. If it is not to my liking, I will not serve it to my guests. I would rather call out for Chineese, for example.
I’m a complete wimp when it comes to seafood. I can’t look at it in it’s natural habitat and I sure can’t eat it. It brings on a pretty serious panic attack! Conversely, I’m very intense when it comes to making sure that the people i love are eating good quality and healthy food. It’s important that I know where the food they eat comes from and what’s in it, even if they couldn’t care less.
Even though I’m the biggest social butterfly I know, I turn into such a baby whenever I have to go someplace new by myself! Even if it’s just going across the street to the new cafe or over 3 blocks when I desperately need some ice cream, I just can’t do it without a partner in crime by my side!
On the other hand, I’m a complete freak about my independence. Once I’ve overcome my ridiculously annoying fear of being alone, I turn into a hulk-like creature, completely determined to do everything my way! When I’m on a mission to get something done, I become intensely focused and (slightly) unapproachable until my task is complete!
Oh.. and I ADORE coffee 🙂
Contest is now closed. Come back on Monday to see who won and for the start of a brand new contest.
