Big News from the Food Gal
See those cookbooks up there?
Soon, there will be a San Francisco-centered one, too.
And I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be writing it.
Yes, my first cookbook ever.
“San Francisco Chef’s Table” (Globe Pequot) is expected to publish toward the end of this year.
Like the other books in this series, it will spotlight about 50 restaurants — most in San Francisco with a smattering from other parts of the Bay Area — and include recipes from each one.
The photos will be gorgeous, too, as they’ll be shot by award-winning photojournalist Craig Lee, who for many years was the main food photographer for the San Francisco Chronicle’s Food section.
Because the time-frame for completing the book is rather challenging, I will be making a temporary change to my FoodGal blog. I’ve prided myself on posting five days a week pretty much continuously since the blog’s inception five years ago. In order to accommodate the work on the book, though, I will be posting only three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) from now through the end of July. After that, my blog will resume its regular five-posts-per-week schedule.
I hope you’ll bear with me through the process and continue to drop by my blog. After all, I’ve got some especially fun reads coming up, including posts from my recent trip to Maui, where I had the chance to interview Chef Sheldon Simeon of Star Noodle, who not only came in third in this past season of “Top Chef,” but also was chosen “fan favorite.”
Stay tuned for lots more.
Thanks, everyone!
Congratulations! What great news. I’m really happy for you.
Cheers,
Rosa

This is GREAT news !!! Both Davis and I are happy for you
We will promote your book
CONGRATULATIONS! looking forward to it…!
Excellent news! They picked the perfect person for this assignment. When it’s all off to the presses, it will be interesting to hear how the process of writing for such a targeted assignment may be different for you than writing to the sound of your own drummer, so to speak. Terrible metaphor there, but you know what I mean. Go, Carolyn, GO!!!
Big congrats my friend. Can’t wait to feature it! 🙂
Awesome, congratulations!
Congratulations!! That sounds like such an exciting project to work on! I love reading books with recipes from restaurants that I’ve been to or want to eat at! And Craig is a super cool and easy-to-work with guy so I know you’ll hit it off with him!
Congratulations! This is an exciting news and I’m excited for you. 🙂 Can’t wait to get a copy when it’s ready.
A big congratulations Carolyn and I can’t think of a more deserving writer to get a cook book deal focusing on their own city!! 😀
Congratulations! Can’t wait to see the book.
That is so exciting! I can’t wait to buy it. And let us all know how we can help you spread the word! When will it be out?
Congrats! Great news, and very well deserved. You write so well, I’m sure the book will be excellent. Look forward to it!
Congratulations, Carolyn. And you are the perfect person to do the book, too!
Mom and Dad would be proud. You go, girl!
A very big congrats to you!!!! Waw, that’s exciting news!!!!
Superb! Congrats, Carolyn. Can’t wait to buy it!!!
So fun! Congrats my dear. This is so well-deserving 🙂
Carin Oliver: Look for the book to be out around November or December of this year. And it’ll be available in stores, as well as on Amazon. In fact, if you purchase it — or anything else — on Amazon through the portal on my blog, yours truly makes a piddly commission. And I mean, piddly. LOL But hey, every penny helps. 😉
Huge congratulations Carolyn!!! I can’t wait to see, read, and cook from your book.
I’m totally impressed with your dedication to posting 3 days a week while writing the book. Ugh, that has been tough for me;)
It was so fun to see you on Refinery 29 last week.
Have a great week,
xo

Congratulations!! That is awesome and I am so excited for you.
